Coming Out Anniversary

So today is the one year anniversary of the day I officially came out as trans.

More accurately, today is the one year anniversary of the second time I came out as trans, but without back-pedaling.

Weeeeell, it’s more the anniversary of the day I told my housemates I was going to go pick up my laundry, ended up wandering around in a park on my college campus for hours, came back and told one of them I thought I was trans. The next day, I told another housemate. The next day, I told the third housemate. Then I started coming out to people.

But it still feels like a very exciting milestone to me! I even did a voiceclip to mark the occasion: 111009 34 Weeks.

It’s so hard to believe it has been a year since that day.  I remember feeling so afraid about what was to come, and though sometimes my transition is as hard as I imagined it would be, there are plenty of times it is so much easier and I am so thankful for that.

I wanted to say thank you to the friends and family (and to the trans internet community) who have given me so much support and love this past year.
